"Day Zero" for Cape Town cancelled for the time being - water shortage remains a global problem

Since the beginning of the year, the "Day Zero" on 11 May has been expected for Cape Town. The water supply for 3.7 million inhabitants would collapse due to a drought of a century, soldiers would have to prevent people from fighting for water and rations of 25 litres per capita would have to be distributed daily to water distribution points. After two very weak rainy years, a drought was expected in the third year, with no more rain.
